Where does ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C) come from?

All animal life either produces Vitamin C, eats it, or fataly dies from a condition called scurvy. Most citrus fruits produce high concentrations in their fruit. Several green plants also produce it as well in their leaves. Lizards produce Ascorbic acid in their kidneys to survive.


Is ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C) healty for me?

For humans and all animals Ascorbic Acid is required to survive. If a human eats a diet that does not contain ascorbic acid they will start to develop a condition called scurvy and eventually die. 

Sympotoms of scurvy are: malaise (fealing weak), lethargy, shortness of breath, bone pain, kin changes with roughness, easy bruising and petechiae, gum disease, loosening of teeth, poor wound healing, and emotional changes. As conditions worsen a victum of scurvy will start to show jaundice, generalized edema, oliguria, neuropathy, fever, and convulsions, and finaly death.

While I am sure you don't want to get scurvy or die from it most organizations agree the best place to get ascorbic Acid is by eating it in naturaly occuring foods; fruits and vegtables.
